The UK has been testing and certifying packagings according to the UN Recommendation since 1977. Our current role is summarised as:

Operating the UN certification system under delegated authority for the national benefit, as already indicated;
Providing specialist packaging advice to the authorities;
Testing;
Research and consultancy;
Information and training.

Our Dangerous Goods office serves a wide range of clients:

UK government, e.g. Department for Transport, the Health & Safety Executive, the Civil Aviation Authority and Maritime & Coastguard Agency;
Packaging manufacturers, chemical and distribution companies forwarders, carriers and exporters;
