Fuel Consumption and CO2 Information
VCA is responsible for the creation and management of the New Car and Van Fuel Consumption and CO2 databases used by individuals and organisations to do the following:
In the Car database
-
Inform buyers of new and used cars about how they can reduce the impact of their vehicle on the environment
-
Identify the vehicle excise duty and/or the relevant Company Car tax percentage bracket, based on CO2 levels
-
Search within the database to find cars that offer lower fuel consumption or use alternative fuel types
On the back of this work, we have developed a system to enable dealers to produce the labels that appear on new cars displayed in showrooms. VCA is also the UK body responsible for monitoring new car advertising to ensure that the rules regarding the display of Fuel Consumption and CO2 figures within printed advertisements are followed.
