New Car Fuel Consumption / CO2 Database
Climate Change is recognised as one of the greatest environmental threats facing the World today and it has long been appreciated by Governments, that reducing the impact of the motor vehicle has an important part to play in addressing this threat.
VCA has developed a database listing most of the new cars* available for sale in the UK. The purpose of this website is twofold:

to inform buyers of new cars how they can reduce the impact of their vehicle on the environment and;
- to identify the vehicle excise duty on individual vehicles based on their environmental impact (CO2 emissions).
The Database, provides details of the fuel consumption, exhaust pollution levels and noise levels of most new petrol and diesel cars on sale in the UK. In addition, some non petrol/diesel vehicles are included (LPG/CNG). Visitors to the site can use the data to calculate the likely cost of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) on a car they may be thinking about buying, and there is also the option to download the content of the database for those wishing to evaluate the data further.
In an attempt not to duplicate information, we have tried to provide alternative site addresses such as the Inland Revenue site for information on the new Company Car Tax arrangements, the NCAP site for details on crash test ratings as well as website addresses for the majority of vehicle manufacturers.
