You will learn:
This course is designed to enable environmental practitioners to perform an internal audit on an ISO 14001:2004 system in accordance with the requirements of the standard. Candidates will learn how to prepare and plan for an audit, how to raise non-conformities and identify effective corrective action.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand how to plan internal audits and how to interact with audit teams to achieve effective outcomes.
- Understand the structure of the standard and its requirements (covered in more detail in the Implementation Course).
- Understand what objective, impartial evidence is and how to collect and record it.
- Understand how to write a factual and effective audit report, and summarise daily sessions.
- Understand how to raise NC's and expectations for closure.
Delivery options:
The course can be treated as a stand-alone, or combined with the one-day ISO 14001:2004 awareness course. Courses can be delivered in your workplace or at an off-site venue, which ever suits you best.
Pre-requisites:
Candidates require a working knowledge of ISO 14001:2004, or should have attended the ISO 14001:2004 implementation course.
Materials and recognition:
A comprehensive set of learning materials will be supplied to support the course, which are also designed to act as a valuable data resource going forward. A certificate of recognition will be supplied to all successful candidates.
